Does anyone know if we are allowed to link to youtube within a story.  When I link to a youtube video and then click the link during preview, it just brings up a blank page.  Any help is appreciated.  Thx!

Teresa,

You can link to a YouTube video.

If the link doesn't automatically work in the Preview then you will need to edit it using the "Edit" function on the "Customize Your eBook" page.

To do this you would first right-click and copy the URL of the original YouTube video. Then go back to Zinepal, click on the "Edit" Story button, highlight the link, click on the "Insert/Edit Link" button and paste the URL into the box and afterwards click the "Save" button.

This should then work. I hope I have explained this clearly. Otherwise, please let me know.

Regards, Paul.

Hey Paul, thanks for your response. In order for link to work to video, I had to finalize e-book. Once I did that, I can now access YouTube, via my YouTube link. Trying to click link in preview does not work. Thks again!

You can link to a YouTube video. If you are using the correct link then it should work. I have just tried processing a URL containing a YouTube link and it works fine.

If the link doesn't automatically work in the Preview (for some reason) then you will need to edit it using the "Edit" function on the "Customize Your eBook" page. However, you would need a Pro subscription to use the "Edit" feature for adding or editing a story.

To do this you would first right-click and copy the URL of the original YouTube video. Then go back to Zinepal, click on the "Edit" Story button, highlight the link, click on the "Insert/Edit Link" button and paste the URL into the box and afterwards click the "Save" button.

I hope this information helps.

Regards, Paul.

Non paid members can add web pages via the "Create" function. So if the Video Link is contained in a URL which you are adding then it will work.
If you try to add a video link using the Pro "Edit" feature then it will not work.

If the URL processes correctly and the video link works in the Preview then it should work after Finalizing.

If the video is not viewable in the Preview (which sometimes happens due to a number of reasons) then the link may need to be edited before Finalizing.

Hey Paul,

I upgraded for one month to try it out. I think it's exactly what i needed.

It produces duplicate pdf report.  The pdf appears twice in one page.   May be i need some editing. Please advice.

I attached the pdf below for you to understand what i mean.

Thank you.

Charles.

Hi Charles,

There can be two different reasons for this effect (which results in the same story twice in your eBook).

When you see this in the Preview list of stories, you should click on the "Remove" button next to the unwanted story and then preview once again to check the result before finalizing.

You can also click on "Edit" to make any other necessary changes to your other stories.

I hope this information helps.

Regards, Paul.
