Hey all you zinesters, 

Here are some reminders about next week. We have our two really wonderful illustrator guests joining us, Niv Bavarsky and Nick Iluzada! Here are links to check out their work:

We'd like y'all to think about some questions or ideas to talk to them about when they're with us. We'll also most likely be drawing with them so bring your favorite materials! 

Beyond that please keep working on your midterm and try to get another two pages at least sketched out so you can show the class. 

Also we'd like you to find an illustrator or drawer or zinester with an online presence that you think is interesting or innovative to share with the class via the google group, so we can all be thinking about different methods of visual expression and get a better understanding of each other's interests.

Lastly just try to keep in mind any ideas that spring to you about our final collaborative zine (jot down those gems that come to you while you're in the shower or riding your bike, ya know?) so that we can start sharing those in class.

Huzzah! We are excited for next week and hope you are too!

Just want to remind all about what's going on tomorrow - if you haven't yet please check out tomorrow's guests' work and get excited, think about what we can ask them about when we are with them. Also try to share an artist/illustrator with everyone via goog group, and keep working on your art!

Hi all,

I will have to miss our discussion tonight... Super last minute request, but I'm teaching a bunch of teenagers how to make zines at the Oakland library this evening. Stoked!

Kristina is an amazing illustrator, and she just got hired on as lead illustrator for the New Yorker. Huge deal! She started out making zines like us, and she still draws a comic alongside all her commercial work.

If you want, I'll bring some of my favorite zine comix with me next Tuesday...

Super looking forward to our Friday zine tour at the Bancroft. See you then!
