Greetings From Africans Rising, We are thrilled to launch the application process for the second edition of the Activists in Residence (AiR) program starting today. The Activist in Residence program is an initiative of Africans Rising for Justice, Peace and Dignity in partnership with the Training Centre for Development Cooperation (MS TCDC). It is set in the full knowledge of the multiple struggles and demands from groups of activists and human rights defenders. We wish to help strengthen the infrastructure of societal transformation by providing a time and space to recharge, re-energize and recuperate CSO leaders, human rights defenders, activists, and artists. The AiR will hopefully be an opportunity for the activists to reflect upon their different contextual challenges in the pursuit of justice, peace and dignity in creating the Africa we want. The second edition of this 4-week program will be held in Arusha, Tanzania between November 8th to 30th November 2018 and will bring together 10 activists from 10 different African countries to build their mental, physical, digital and strategic resilience.
