I migrated the video to my PC running XP Pro (SP3) and with Windows built-in Movie Maker version 2.1.4028.0 (not LIVE Windows Movie Maker) I was able to create opening and closing credits and include a commercial song I legally own into the entire video project.
You need to play with the video and make it play longer by adding transitions, pictures, black frames, in and out frames, text, anything tricky that comes from your mind then you can adjust the playing time.
Movie Maker could do this but I would suggest a much better free alternative.
VideoPad, look at this forum link at the bottom of the page there is the recommendation by the admin for the free version: -Urgent-Question-about-Videopad!
So your video is 93 seconds short. For this show you would be shooting probably fifteen minutes or more of raw footage to have enough to cut down to two minutes. The seven seconds you can probably fudge in post with the speed controls.
A lot of moviemaking magic is bookkeeping and one of the most serious chores is making the sound come out right. For those with enormous budgets, you hire the band or orchestra to compose and record a 34 second version of their song.
If you want to shorten the song (making it roughly the first 17 seconds and the last 17 seconds) rather than extend the video, I suggest you export a WAV version of the song then upload the WAV to one of these sites:
I know this is a known issue with Cura and i think i know why would not open, in the folder of cura there is a installer for Microsoft c++ 2015 redistributable, The thing is i'm not completely sure if this is the reason why, but i hope the community could help many of us not being able to use this outstanding software. If you go to control panel, there is a lot of versions of Microsoft c++ redistributables installed that comes with windows (at least in my case) i have these: 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2017 versions, but i dont have the 2015 version that cura comes with, the 2015 version, but if i try to install it it doesnt let me because i have already a newer version of it (2017) The thing is that this may be the reason why many of us cant open cura but i need some help to figure it out. cura 4.3 only worked once with compatibility settings but now it just wont open (i get the splash screen then a window shows up for a second and it auto closes). Cura haven't patch the issue nor help anyone at all for what i have read in the forum. Can anyone whos pc runs cura with no issues tell me what versions of Microsoft c++ redistributable have install on their pcs? What i think is that people who had older versions of it, cura automatically install the 2015 version that it needs to run and that's why some people doesnt have this issue. I hope you guys can help... Thanks in advance!
I Found the fix Guys, Go to cura folder in program files> ultimaker cura 4.3, scroll all the way to the bottom and install ''vcredist_64'', if it does not install its because you have a newer version, go to control panel> uninstall a program> and uninstall all the newer versions of ''microsoft c++ redistributable'' , then try installing it, Then open cura and enjoy!
I have the exact same symoms as you, so I tried running the vcredist_64 to see if it would install. It only offered me the options to uninstall or repair, so it must have been installed already. I tried the repair option which completed successfully. But the problem with the blank windows that crashes after a few seconds is still the same. So I guess that symptom has many root causes unfortunately.
it shouldn't, did you uninstall all newer versions of microsoft c++? each version has a x64 and x86 versions, so you should uninstall both version for the same year, then restart your pc, then install vcredist_64
From another thread, it seems like some installer programs check for the existence of 2015 incorrectly and thus fail when that specific redist is not found even though the later versions fully replace it.
it works consistently for me. Each distributable has 2 versions! x64 and x86. make sure you uninstall all 4. Go to control panel>uninstall a program> then look for any version of microsoft c++ newer than the 2015 and uninstall, after that just to be sure restart your pc, then install the 2015 version and restart again, cura should not have any issues after that it worked on my laptop as well. let me know if it works!
To test this theory, I shut down the PC rebooted and loaded Cura, as before it works. This is the only change to my system and having checked I cannot see any Windows updates in the last 24 hours so am discounting that as the cure.
When I installed Freecad v.19 it would crash after the splash screen. Their website suggested updating all the drivers. I did that and it worked, but now Cura 4.9 crashed when loading as seen above. I tried everything listed here, but nothing worked. Then I disabled Windows Defender, and this time when Cura crashed, I got a driver failure error. It was the graphics driver, newly updated through Windows Update. I have a Radon R6 graphics card, so I went to their website and lo and behold there was a new beta driver for my card. I installed that and Cura now loads fine and works great. Cura 4.10 also works now too. I hope this helps anyone out there still having this problem.
Hi this is the problem I face very hard to find and i couldn't fix this issue more than a mouth. I'm Using Rog 3090 RTX 24 GB graphic card with windows 10 then. I checked graphic card running several benchmark test, but I couldn't find what is the problem, some times cura open and work, but some times it's not worked, cura not given any massage despaired from startup, one day I had same problem in substance painter software then I remove Nvidia Graphic Driver after used only default Microsoft driver , after that I see cure is working and I re install driver then after not working cure and substanice painter agin , after that i removed Graphic card monitoring Software's "ASUS GPU Tweak II" and " GPU-Z" after that Cura waking fine no problem after that.
Windows Movie Maker (known as Windows Live Movie Maker[6] for the 2009 and 2011 releases) is a discontinued video editing software program by Microsoft. It was first included in Windows Me on September 14, 2000, and in Windows XP on October 25, 2001. It later became a part of the Windows Essentials software suite, and offered the ability to create and edit videos as well as to publish them on OneDrive, Facebook, Vimeo, YouTube, Windows Live Groups, and Flickr. It is comparable to Apple's iMovie.
Version 1.1 was included in Windows XP a year later, and included support for creating DV AVI and WMV 8 files. Version 2.0 was released as a free update in November 2002, and added a number of new features. Version 2.1, a minor update, is included in Windows XP Service Pack 2. The Movie Maker in Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 had more transitions and support for DVD burning.
As some older systems might not be able to run the new version of Windows Movie Maker, Microsoft also released an updated older version 2.6 for Windows Vista on Microsoft Download Centre. This version is basically the same as Windows Movie Maker 2.1 and included all of the old effects and transitions, but it excludes the ability to capture video. It can only be installed on Windows Vista and is only intended for use on computers where the hardware-accelerated version cannot run.[9]
A Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) version of Windows Movie Maker was also included in some development builds of Vista (at the time codenamed "Longhorn"), but was removed in the development reset in August 2004.[10] After the development reset, the interface for the WPF-based Windows Movie Maker was retained in Windows Vista.
A new version of the software, renamed Windows Live Movie Maker 2009, was released as a beta on September 17, 2008, and officially released as a standalone product through Windows Live Essentials suite on August 19, 2009. This was effectively a completely new application, as it could not read projects created by earlier versions and did not support custom XML transitions written for the previous versions. In addition, many features were removed.
Also, Movie Maker's interface was redesigned in the Windows Live version to use a ribbon toolbar similar to Office 2007; it also added features such as "Auto Movie" and the ability to export videos directly to DVDs and YouTube.[11] Certain advanced features were also removed from the software, such as image stabilization and the ability to record voice-overs.[12]
Movie Maker 2009 supported both Windows Vista and Windows 7. As the previous version of Windows Movie Maker was no longer included with the operating system, the only way to obtain Movie Maker on Windows 7 and later was through the Windows Live Essentials suite,[6][13] although some manufacturers pre-installed the application on new PCs.
An updated version, Windows Live Movie Maker 2011, was released on August 17, 2010, adding features such as webcam capture, support for high-definition video, the ability to upload videos directly to SkyDrive, Facebook, and YouTube through their respective web APIs, and the ability to add media files stored on network shares to projects.[12]
With the discontinuation of the Windows Live brand (and the re-branding of the Windows Live suite as Windows Essentials), Windows Movie Maker 2012 was released in April 2012. Support for recording voice-overs was restored, along with an audio mixer and integration with several free stock music services. H.264/MP4 became the default export format (replacing Windows Media Video, but still can be used), support for uploading to Vimeo was introduced (other sites were added to the list in the Windows 8.1 release of the suite), and hardware accelerated video pila stabilisation was also added as an exclusive feature for Windows 8 users.[14]
