Client Support

Great tool guys... I'm wondering if it's possible to have a postgis
data file support multiple GIS clients? I know your product is
specifically for ESRI products but was wondering if there is any
"Special Sauce" that you add to the database where other client
software would have issues reading and editing the same database. I'm
hoping that someday a backend spatial database will transparently
support most any client we wish to use.

I've been doing some research on FDO stuff and other tools that open
many backends to multiple clients and was just wondering if anyone has
tried a zig enabled database using ESRI and other GIS clients.

Any pitfalls or gotchas to lookout for?
