New in ZIgbee4Java

Hi Guys

I am starting a project and wanted to try the Zigbee4java sourcecode, but i have a few problems:

1. Can you help with how to run only an example server and client without a dongle?

2. When i get the dongle, can i run the code in android device connected to the dongle?

3. What parts of the code do i need so my dongle will be used as server and i will talk to him?

Basically need some more info to start.

Hello, I am working with the zigbee4java library about half a year, so I think I can help You if you didn't solved that. But I am not absolutely sure about following:

1. I think not, the server needs to connect to serial port (which your dongle will make after plugging to USB).

2. I don't know in which state is the "Android-part" of the library, probably You can.

3. You will need surely thesse parts:

zigbee-common

zigbee-dongle-cc2531

zigbee-serial-javase

zigbee-gateway-server

and maybe these parts (for console cotrol):

zigbee-console-javase

zigbee-console-common

zigbee-api

And my warnning (or advice): if you buy USB Zigbee dongle (with CC2531), you need to flash hex file to the chip with CC Debugger or similar programmer. Without flashing the firmware the dongle will not make serial port and you will not be able to use it, because original firmware on the chip (when you buy) is just simple Zibee packet sniffer. I was really unpleasantly surprised when I learned this.
