Today, for the first time, millions of you will have the ability to use WhatsApp on your web browser. Our web client is simply an extension of your phone: the web browser mirrors conversations and messages from your mobile device -- this means all of your messages still live on your phone.

Web Whatsapp is not going to be able for iPhone users. I asked Whatsapp personally through email and they told me that the application is hard to make but they are working on it. People think that Apple don't like this idea because they don't like Whatsapp, they have a awful relationship. The other argument is that with the huge security Apple has is difficult to make the application work. Apple needs to unblock some ports to let WhatsApp send connection to the web app being in the background and Apple don't like this ideas. So to resume all of this, don't expect Web WhatsApp shortly. MAYBE if we get a lot of people that wants it and ask for it they would work faster.

Oh, a friend told that it was something with ports Im sorry. Can you please explain me more about the "fix their end". I dont understand why are they taking so long to implement a application that all the others phone in the market have. Secondly, its Apple, the biggest phone company in the whole world, how cant they make a simple application work that other can? It makes no sense for me. I dont know who to contact, but I really need this application it will make my life so easier.

Apple does not make the application, nor do they make it work. Third party applications are written by developers to work on particular platforms. If Whatsapp is having difficulty writing an app to work in iOS, that is their issue, not Apple's. The only restriction is that they work within the restrictions of iOS development. Since other platforms are more open, and more susceptible to viruses and malware, then they are probably easier to code for. That is Whatsapp's problem.

If Apple users ask kindly for the app, Apple will HELP TO MAKE THE APP FASTER. Im not saying Apple is making the App, Im saying that Apple is not helping the process to make the app faster. We are talking about the biggest messaging app in the world, we are not talking about a normal third party app. Im just saying, if Apple realizes their costumers want the app they will help make the process faster. If you are interested you can send them feedback using the following link:

They cannot do anything unless the developer submits the app. They do not speed up or slow down the process. It just requires the developer to submit the app for approval. Once it is done, then it is done. Please try and understand that Apple is not the problem here, the developer is. The thing about this "biggest messaging app in the world" as you state, is that it is a workaround that requires both parties to a message to have the app. It is not standard messaging which is handled by either the carrier or the iPhone.

Second, about Apple helping the process. I THINK they can, like said, if many users ask for it they will try to make it faster. You will respond to me by saying "No they are not responsible bla bla bla bla" But you need to think in the perspective of a manager or a owner of a business. If your costumers want something why aren't you going to give it to them or help them. For last, I thought that the problem was with Apple not with Whatsapp. Why did I thought this?Unfortunately for now, we will not be able to provide web client to our iOS users due to Apple platform limitations.

"Apple plataform limitations", what I understand of this is that Apple has some security limitations and therefore they cant make the app work. I though that Apple could do something about this platform and help the app. Im not expert in the topic, this is what a normal person understand by reading Whatsapp information. So, can someone please tel me (a normal person) why cant Whatsapp make the application work and other cellphones can? Is Whatsapp even trying to make the app? Anyone here knows a way we can accelerate the process?

Translation: They're too lazy to make an iOS version. Seriously, there are no "platform limitations" unique to Apple. If I understand correctly, the concept behind WhatsApp Web is that you can login by scanning a QR code on your device. Apple does not do anything to make this difficult. I also contacted WhatsApp, asking what the alleged "platform limitations" were, and never received a reply.

Only on iOS, WhatsApp Web is not supported on the desktop apparently due to platform limitation according to WhatsApp - whatever the reason maybe either business related, technicality or pure laziness - it is irrelevant, WhatsApp iPhone users are being left out where literally everyone else has access to WhatsApp Web even Nokia Symbian S40 from 10 years ago.

Some would say if you care enough about WhatsApp Web among other things - switch to a different platform otherwise stick with iMessage or the other alternative third party which allows desktop access. It *****, but unfortunately this is the situation.

So the ball is currently in Apple's court whether are they going to work/have been working with WhatsApp in regards to the technicalities or business - the end result is iOS users should not be handicapped from using services accessible to everyone else, especially after paying for a premium flagship handset.
