Detect Valid Certificate on Zend_Http_Client SSl request

Good Morning:

Does anybody knows how to Detect Valid Certificate on Zend_Http_Client
SSl request
I need my server side Zend_Http_Client_Requests be done only if
$uri is on a valid ssl certificate.
I think using and extended version of Zend_Uri instead of
a string parameter could be a better idea.
But I need some advice on how to dectect if a host has valid
certificate
with php, before creating methods for an extended version of Zend_Uri.
I'll appreciate any advice.
