Ihave two profiles in my Google Chrome: Joe and Sam. I would like to rename the name of my profile into "JoeJobs" but I can't find any way to do it. I'm only getting "Manage people" and "Remove this person".

4) You should see the settings window show 'Edit person' with a line to change the profile name and the icon. To finish and save any changes, click on the back (left pointing) arrow next to the words 'Edit person'

If you work with several companies and clients (and also potentially share Chrome Profiles to coordinate bookmarks and extensions) this naming structure helps keep all the Companies and Client Projects straight.

(shame I can't comment yet, but this is how I solved my issue.)If after going into your Google account settings and changing your name your old name is still being shown on your chrome profile when you click the small icon on the top right, check if sync is turned on. If it is, turn it off (then optionally back on again), and your new name will show up immediately.

And for more on Chrome, here's how to copy a frame from a video without taking a screenshot, how to use all the new mobile features on Chrome and how to save your Gmail account from being deleted by Google

Google's latest update for Chrome makes it simpler to change your default desktop design from the standard white and gray color scheme. A new side panel enables you to access customization features and preview your browser design in real time, the company said Tuesday.

It's a slight change. Previously you had to visit the Chrome Web Store to choose from a series of themes. However, you can still hop over to the web store to view a variety of options not shown in the side panel.

You can also swap out different color schemes within themes, adjusting it to your taste. Additionally, Google says you don't have to stick to just one theme. After making your selection, toggle "Refresh daily" to set up a revolving queue of backdrops.

To make the customization process even more streamlined, Chrome automatically saves your edits, eliminating the need to click Done to apply your changes. Once you've modified your design, just close the side panel. You can always change it back to the flagship version of Chrome if you prefer.

Address-bar shortcuts let you define something in the bar at the top of your browser window, such as perform an immediate Google search, open search in a new tab or even move your cursor to the address bar.

No, not playing cards: Google Cards are elements you can see on your New Tab page that are related to your past searches. They're boxed items, usually with art, that include recently visited and related content. So if you searched for a pasta recipe, you might see more of those, and if you were shopping for a chair, you might see different chairs for sale online.

In most cases, the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) automaticallyconfigures your system to use the IP addresses of your ISP's domain nameservers. To use Google Public DNS, you need to explicitly change the DNSsettings in your operating system or device to use the Google Public DNS IPaddresses. The procedure for changing your DNS settings varies according tooperating system and version (Windows, Mac, Linux, or ChromeOS) or the device(computer, phone, or router). We give general procedures here that might notapply for your OS or device; consult your vendor documentation for authoritativeinformation.

Depending on your system you may also have the option of enabling a newprivacy-oriented feature called DNS-over-TLS. This feature provides privacyand security for the DNS messages sent between your device and Google's DNSservers. Details on configuring this optional feature are in specific sectionsfor each system.

Before you change your DNS settings to use Google Public DNS, be sure to writedown the current server addresses or settings on a piece of paper. It is veryimportant that you keep these numbers for backup purposes, in case you need torevert to them at any time.

You can configure Google Public DNS addresses for either IPv4 or IPv6connections, or both. For IPv6-only networks with a NAT64 gateway using the64:ff9b::/96 prefix, you can use Google Public DNS64 instead of GooglePublic DNS IPv6 addresses, providing connectivity to IPv4-only services withoutany other configuration.

Because the instructions differ between different versions/releases of eachoperating system, we only give one version as an example. If you need specificinstructions for your operating system/version, please consult your vendor'sdocumentation. You may also find answers on our user group page.

Many systems let you to specify multiple DNS servers, to be contacted inpriority order. In the following instructions, we provide steps to specify onlythe Google Public DNS servers as the primary and secondary servers, to ensurethat your setup correctly uses Google Public DNS in all cases.

Select Use the following DNS server addresses. If there are any IPaddresses listed in the Preferred DNS server or Alternate DNSserver, write them down for future reference.

For more information see the Android blog post announcing the feature. Please note that in Android P, the default mode for Private DNS is "Automatic"which means it uses the network specified DNS server and it attempts a TLSconnection to port 853 before falling back to UDP on port 53.

Devices running versions older than Android 9 do not support DNS-over-TLS andcannot configure private DNS for all networks. You can configure DNS for eachindividual Wi-Fi network you use. This requires configuring all networkinformation manually and is only recommended for advanced users.

DNS servers are typically specified under advanced Wi-Fi settings. However, asevery mobile device uses a different user interface for configuring DNS serversettings, we provide only the generic procedure. For more information, please consult your mobile provider's documentation.

From your browser, enter a hostname URL (such as ). If it resolvescorrectly, quit the browser, load the page again and refresh it for severaltimes to make sure the result is not from a cached web page.

If this works correctly, reload the page with a new opened browser to makesure the page is loaded from scratch. If these tests work (but step 1fails), then there is a problem with your DNS configuration; check the stepsabove to make sure you have configured everything correctly. If these testsdo not work, go to the next step.

If you had not previously configured any customized DNS servers, to switch backto your old settings, in the window in which you specified the Google IPaddresses, select the option to enable obtaining DNS server addressesautomatically, and/or delete the Google IP addresses. This reverts your settingsto using your ISP's default servers.

Is it a requirement in your automation to change the zoom level/scale?

If so, an easy way is to use the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl with + or - key to zoom in and out respectively.

Click this link to read more about this:

In your situation, you could use Reset Zoom and then zoom out 10% at a time, as needed. The standard behaviour is each Ctrl + - command zooms out by 10%. So the following three keystrokes with, say, 0.5 or 1-second delay will get you to the right zoom.

Recently, and inconsistently, when I update a field, the Chrome prompt for Update Password comes up. If I'm updating many fields, it keeps coming up. Extremely annoying to say the least. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone have a solution? I don't get this behavior in other browsers, but I'm pulling data from Google Drive and I find working in Chrome easiest. I've got a Windows 10 64-bit laptop with Chrome Version 117.0.5938.150.

Also happening for me on both my macbook air & macbook pro on Chrome version 117.0.5938.149. You can turn off "Offer to save passwords" from the chrome/google password manager, but that applies to every site obviously and can be easy to forget to turn back on.

I have not yet received a solution from support and will post as soon as I can. They did not indicate they knew of a problem, but the more I use Airtable, the more the issue pops up on NUMEROUS fields. Yes, it's annoying.
