They are still there, posting to zetnet.local - but the posts aren't
distributed outside the ISP http://www.zetnet.co.uk any longer.
*Really* local, I suppose <g> Or "Just like the Internet, but cozier".

I recall many of the posters saying they would meet each other at
different places every now and then, places I've never heard of but that
was not important to me. I could never join in on the meetings and even
that was not important to me. What was important was a distinctive
attitude that was easily observed and the attitude was a genuine caring
and respect for each other. Occasionally, someone would post a recipe
that I would print out and give to my wife to try. Have to tell you
that there were times that I had some good meals. I have hopes for the
return of those days.

It's a general ng. Anything and everthing is dicussed, most of it is
fairly lighthearted but there are some serious discussions.
I believe Anne knows dl, perhaps she could add something.

If it's not on your list of subscribable ng's I don't know any other way
to get it, I'm afraid. I'm not much cop at this tech. stuff - I just
use it, dunno how to make it go!

Yes, it is a bit. I think it probably has something to do with the old
phrase 'working like a demon' - either that or they wanted something
eye-catching:-)
There is nothing remotely demonic about any part of Demon though and
certainly not d.l - well, one or two of the regulars maybe...:-)

Hmm, that may not be easy as I am actually nothing to do with Zetnet my
ISP is Demon, but as I can get this through Demon I could look around a
bit and see what I can come up with.
Thanks.

Worry not, Nick. Things have changed and not nessecarily for the better
:(
Homespun is one thing but its changed to mind numbingly boring unless
you like giving agony aunt type advice all the time.
Which explains my prescence here :) Now if I can only figure out how to
use this software, I'll be fine.

I guess when zetnet put up the wall, it not only shut people out, it also
shut people in. That's a pity.

Would you like some advice on that, Peter? I can recommend an ng where
you could ask ;)
