Motoring organisations

Which motoring organisation would you recommend and why?

The ETA (Environmental Transport Association) offers a get you home
service and breakdown service for members on bicycles *and* in cars...

I was just going to mention them!
Note that they operate a similar service to National Breakdown/Green
Flag in that they have no mechanics of their own but contract out
local garages.

It was towards the end of July as my AA sub was coming up for renewal.

Well, I stayed with the AA in the end as although a bit more
costwise, they cover *me* and whatever car I am in, as driver or
passenger. Whereas all the other cheaper suggestions that were made
at the time [and I did look them all up:)] only covered the car you
register with them.

Have to admit that I belong to the AA and have had a spate of car
breakdowns and the service has been excellent - longest wait was
under 45 minutes and always within the time quoted. I am NOT
changing to another organisation!

I get an excellent deal from Saga, Green Flag on the cheap, but with
all the bells and whistles, however, you do have to be over 50 (years
of age not mph).
Switched when it was cheaper than Green Flag, even with the wife's
IAM discount.
