Quick note. We are going to add an option to disable the convenience
space and delete buttons below the main buttons. We are also going to
look at adding a space and delete button in the landscape mode to the
left and right of the main keys. These may also handle a slide up for
shift and symbol/number mode.

Still to decide what to do for shift mode in portrait mode.

Dear Zeta,

I would like to suggest that in portrait mode, you put the shift and
alt keys under one of the three buttons when you longpress them (left
= caps, right = symbols). I know that currently there is no way to
freeze caps or symbols, but there isnt one in the default keyboard
either (not for symbols at least). If you do want to do a freeze
option, I would suggest that you place the dot (.) in the symbols lay-
out a the same place it is in the regular letter layout, BUT that in
caps or symbols mode, it doesn't function as a dot, but as a lock-
layout option (lock caps or lock shift). That placing is pretty
similar to the default keyboard (both virtual and physical) AND you
can still maintain the nice three button layout (at least in
portrait).
In landscape I would try something different and keep delete and
space, because swiping across the entire screen isnt very convenient.
Actually, it would be most convenient if there were four buttons in
stacks of two with the text being in the middle (, but that would be
very creative and unlikely).

I hope you can find some useful advice in the portrait mode
suggestions.

P.S. If you would have longpress on the left key be shift and right
being alt, then you could do something with the middle key (I would
suggest smilies ;) ).

Thanks Roy again. This is what we are planning to do (and we are
making progress on it!)

- In portrait mode we are planning to enable long press of two keys
(left and middle for now as per the Flash demo on our site).

- When you long press twice on a key this will lock the keyboard.
(N.B. If you slide up twice on a key this locks the keyboard right
now. So there IS a lock function. Let me know if you need more
details on how to do this.)

- Landscape will be the same as portrait but we will add two narrower
buttons on either side of the keyboard which will handle delete and
space only for now. This is because it is hard to do a long slide in
landscape mode as you mentioned.

There is a plan to enable extra keys when you long press the 3rd key
but this is not scheduled for this release. We have to give more
thought about what we will put there.
