Planning an Onsite Small-Scale Decentralized Composting Facility: Fundamentals for Getting It Right

A COOLNow free Webinar

Whether you're managing a university campus, a food bank, or a tribal community organization, the idea of handling your organic waste onsite can feel equal parts appealing and overwhelming. Betsy La Force, Sales & Business Development Manager at Green Mountain Technologies, will walk you through the practical fundamentals of planning, creating, and operating a small-scale decentralized composting facility. Her presentation focuses on what actually works for your site, your staff, and your community. Betsy will cover core planning principles and bring them to life through a series of real-world case studies drawn from institutions like Rutgers, Colorado State, and Lafayette, as well as community-rooted operations including the Miami Nation, the Food Bank of Dayton, and a thriving program in Traverse City, Michigan. If you've been wondering whether onsite composting is within reach for your organization, this is the session that will help you find out.

Join Captain Charles Moore: The Great Pacific Garbage Patch

A Save the Albatross Coalition Free Event

Join Save The Albatross Coalition (STAC) for a compelling presentation on the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, led by Captain Charles Moore — the researcher who discovered it. Captain Moore makes a short presentation. There will be a short documentary produced in collaboration with the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), followed by an open discussion. The film chronicles his 20-year research journey with the Algalita Marine Research and Education team, exposing the devastating accumulation of 80,000 metric tons of plastic and the toll that microplastic "toxic confetti" takes on marine ecosystems and human health.

The presentation will be offered twice:

Wednesday, June 10 at 10:00 AM Pacific

(ideal for North and South American audiences)

and

Wednesday, June 24 at 7:00 AM Pacific

(timed for participants in India, Pakistan, Southeast Asia, and beyond)
