Hi!

Just sharing…..new research on reusables and having a positive carbon impact after just three uses!

Data shows reusable cups reached carbon break-even faster than most people expect. ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏

Hi steve,

One of the biggest misconceptions about reuse is that it takes hundreds of uses before it creates a meaningful environmental benefit.

The data tells a different story.

An independent life cycle assessment conducted at Moda Center found that reusable cups reached carbon break-even after just two uses.

Reuse Doesn’t Have to Be a Line Item_Horizontal

The same study found:

  • 74% lower carbon emissions than compostable PLA cups
  • 82% lower carbon emissions than single-use plastic cups
  • Nearly 1 million beverages served in reusable cups

That's important because one of the most common objections to reuse is that the environmental impact takes too long to materialize.

In reality, the benefits begin much sooner than most people expect.

See the infographic here.

If you're evaluating reuse at your venue, let's chat so we can share what we're seeing across sports, entertainment, and event operations.
