Hi All,

It’s not too late to volunteer with your happy, scrappy local Zero Waste group! Consider giving a couple of hours of your time at Jazz Fest this Sat 9/6.  We especially need help after 2 pm.  And there are gorgeous fireworks if you stick around till 8 pm.  Please sign up HERE.

We need three kinds of helpers:

At our Zero Waste Stations: You will be a Zero Waste Ambassador, helping people sort their waste into food scraps, recycling and landfill bins.

Can Recycling: At Jazz Fest we'll also be collecting deposit cans for recycling.  The City has stopped using single use plastic cups at their beer garden!  Huzzah!

At our Zero Waste Tent: You will be giving out information about composting and waste reduction, engaging people with quiz questions at our "spinning wheel" and demonstrating our worm bin.

Just let us know which volunteer position you'd prefer when you sign up for a shift on our spreadsheet HERE.  Thank you so much!
  • Saturday Sept 6 from 12-8 pm: Albany Riverfront Jazz Festival.  (4 more volunteers needed) We will be at Jennings Landing Park in Albany along the river helping collect food scraps and cans, and giving out information at our info tent.  Great music & great people.  Fireworks at 8 pm on the river!  If rain is in the forecast, the event moves to Corning Preserve under 787.
