Subject: [beyond-gas] Invitation: 2nd "WTF is Going On?" Webinar - This Thursday 11am ET

Dear all,

We're thrilled to invite you to the next "WTF is Going On?!" call hosted by the Global Gas and Oil Network.

WTF Is Going On?
11am Eastern Time / 5:00 pm Central European Time, Thursday, April 16, 2020

ZOOM INFO : https://zoom.us/j/99112781764
Meeting ID: 991 1278 1764
Find your local number: https://zoom.us/u/aESPK4p7d

We had a fantastic turn out for our event two weeks ago, with more than 100 people joining the call and maxing out our zoom room! This time we've got a larger room, so unless more than 500 of you show up, we should be ok.

After last week's call, we asked you what topics you were most interested in and these were the things that rose to the top that we're going to talk about this Thursday:
  • The implications of recent events on upstream gas production (Kathy Hipple, IEEFA)

  • WTF is going on with fossil fuel finance right now? (Moira Birss, Amazon Watch & Diana Best, Sunrise Project)

  • What are governments doing right now to try and bail out the oil and gas sector? What would a recovery that included a managed decline look like? Where are these policies moving? (Alex Doukas and Laurie van der Burg, Oil Change International)

  • How has coronavirus impacted fights against fossil fuel infrastructure in the Global South? (Nnimmo Bassey, Mother Earth Foundation & Oilwatch International)
We'll hear short presentations on each topic, have a space to share key campaign updates from around the world, and then have an open discussion.

You don't want to miss it.

Join us!
Tom, Hannah, Jamie, Cat, Claudio, Gillian and your friends at GGON
