As part of the University of Melbourne's Festival of Ideas, we invite you to join us for a day of engaging conversation with various top speakers in the area of environmental sustainability.  Take a journey to the future to examine what the world would look like if we were able to transition beyond fossil fuels to a clean energy economy.  Guests are welcome to register for any and all events. ‘Imagine it is October 2033 and we now live in a world in which the transition to a healthy, just, and sustainable post carbon-future is well underway, so there is now real hope that catastrophic climate change will be avoided. How did this happen? What were the key obstacles and how were they overcome?'

STUDENT COMPETITION: Finalists present

A Melbourne University-wide student competition has produced some exciting ideas about the possibility of achieving a post-carbon future for Australia. The challenge was to develop a five minute presentation, accompanied by five slides and 500 words of text, responding to the 'Imagine 2033' back-casting question above.

Join us for five short presentations from the competition finalists, followed by the prize-winner announcements.
