Ready for 100 Organizer

The Sierra Club is working with our partners to create a movement for 100% clean energy for all. We are looking for an experienced, smart, strategic, creative organizer who
can help develop and grow the innovative and ground-breaking Ready for 100 campaign. This person will coordinate the national organizing activities of the #Readyfor100 campaign, and help meet the Sierra Club's organization-wide goal of 100% by 2050.

Because of the unique nature of the campaign, the organizer will work the campaign team and partners to create a new model of grassroots organizing, based on movement building, justice and equity. They will build a distributed grassroots network for public support for clean energy across the country, support chapters and teams of volunteers in targeted states and foster partnerships with diverse organizations. This person will work collaboratively with many partner organizations, including environmental, environmental justice, social justice, labor and clean energy business groups.

The ideal candidate will have experience developing distributed organizing models and building campaigns with a movement building, justice and equity analysis. We are looking for someone with the ability to build volunteer teams remotely, build partnerships remotely, develop online to offline organizing strategy and organize in diverse communities.

100% Network Consultant

The 100% NGO Network is seeking a consultant to oversee a 6 month scope of work (attached). The Network launched in January 2015 with an initial goal of bringing national organizations advancing climate solutions campaigns together to share approaches. There was also clarity among those first dozen or so organizations that came together, including Center for Community Change, Climate Justice Alliance, Environment America, Sierra Club and the Solutions Project, that to achieve the large-scale and systemic transition desired would require a far more diversified set of targets, strategies, tactics, leaders, and constituencies than ever before.  To overcome an entrenched, powerful status quo, the movement must grow and “distribute power” across a network.

The 100% Network recently received its first grant award from the 11th Hour Project to transition the network from its volunteer launch phase over 2015 into a more structured operation. We seek a longer-term consultant to shepherd the body of work detailed in the scope of work.

The consultant will manage the general operations of the Network, assess its most effective trajectory, and ensure its alignment to the foundational statements through the end of 2016.  This body of work includes the management and development of the listserve, biweekly calls, google site, and/or other internal mechanisms for knowledge sharing.  Additionally, the consultant will be responsible for understanding the needs, interests and assets of current members, facilitating cross-network collaboration, and providing strategic recommendations for the growth and development of the Network aligned with the foundational statements.  Finally, the consultant will play a proactive role tracking the field, assessing the priorities and longer-term trajectory of the Network relative to the field overall, planning and facilitating monthly Network working calls, and attending regular Committee meetings; Committee members and potentially other volunteer leaders from the Network will work in partnership with the consultant. For more info, see complete Scope of Work attached.
