Folks,

I know theres not much conversation about 6.X systems. I’ve been trying to keep one alive for the last few years and it’s been fine until recently.

The system no longer reports when items are inaccessible. It still pulls SNMP traffic and such, but no longer will actually alert on events.

Any info on directions you can point me on how this process works? I’ve dug through it a few times looking for errors or problems and haven’t been able to track anything down =\

Has anyone attempted to reinstall the system with new repositories or such?

Hi Tim,
This sounds like your events subsystem is not working: a few questions:
1) Can you bring up the GUI Event Console and does it have new events in it?
2) Are any of your filesystems full?
3) zeneventd is the daemon that processes events as they arrive.  Is it running?   Anything in it's event log?
4) zeneventserver is the daemon that takes processed events, moves them into the mariadb database and makes them available to the GUI event console. Is it running? It's logfile is very different from all others as this is a java daemon rather than a python daemon.

Cheers,
Jane

5) If you are seeing new events but you have triggers and notifications setup to, say, send you email then zenactiond is the daemon in question. Again, is it running and is there anything in it's log file?
