4.2.5 - MySQL server has gone away

Hello,

When i try to query a device in UI, I get this message ----

INFO relstorage Reconnecting store_conn: (2006, 'MySQL server has gone away')

I suspect it may have to do with this setting -

max_allowed_packet=16M

Wondering what  value people use and how optimal value is determined?

It appears that while using UI, sql*.MYI frm files get created in /tmp.  Perhaps some mysql tuning is meeded I guess.
