Hello Zendalona Team!
My name is Carolina Villamizar. I am a Master of Science in Applied Computing student at University of Toronto. I am extremely passionate about accessibility and am eager about the possibility of contributing to Zendalona.
I am currently working on two research projects that provide accessibility solutions:
My first project leverages speaker diarization to identify conversation groups in an audio signal. This, to eventually develop a feature that allows hearing aids to focus in one conversation at a time.
My second research project consists of creating a recolouring tool for users with Colour Vision Deficiency. This recolouring occurs on top of already rendered images, and it is targeted towards information visualizations. Most graphs employ categorical representations of data through colour, which might be challenging to users with CVD. The tool I am developing addresses this problem.
I believe that my research in this area can be useful to the projects being proposed by Zendalona for the Google Summer of Code. I am deeply interested in projects 1, 3,4, and 5. I would really appreciate it If I could have a short meeting with someone in the team to discuss the projects.
Best regards,
Carolina.
