I am pleased to say that I took the zend cert test this morning and I passed. :)

The group discussions helped a lot and I recommend others to go ahead and take the test.

Any recommendations on any local training centers or schools that teach PHP?

Hi Jacques,

I am not sure where you are, I am based in the UK. 

And I can only recommend how I learnt php - through the php.net manual. A tip that worked for me was to focus on the basics and small details of the language reference section

Then I followed the recommendation from the site - http://www.carlowens.me/2010/12/php-5-3-zend-certification-exam-preparation/comment-page-1/#comment-4050

Got it!  I will start using that.  My biggest thing is finding a starting point and then I can go from there.
