VMware Workstation?

Recently I installed VMware Workstation 8 and I try to install VMware
player with the Zen kernel but I get this error message:

Dear Zen-Kernel:

Have you checked to see if the VMware Workstation 8 is compatible with the version of Zen kernel that you are running? Here is a link to the VMware support tool to check compatibilities:

I had a similar issue with Ubuntu 11.10 and ended up reverting to Ubuntu 11.04.
