can't compile 3.4.6

I'm trying to compile from 3.4/master.
Error:
ERROR: could not open directory /home/mariachi/bin/linux-zen/pkg/linux-zen/usr/lib/modules/99.98.3.4.6-zen: No such file or directory
FATAL: could not search modules: No such file or directory
make: *** [_modinst_post] Error 1

I want to patch ureadahead too, and that's easier using Git. Is the issue with the code or a git thing?
