Game losing connectivity while swimming

After installing ver 2.2.3, I've noticed my game occasionally loses the ability to open any menus while swimming. Screenshots attached. 

The buttons on the bottom left and right of the screen cannot be accessed while this happens. I can keep swimming though.
I estimate this happens 1-3 times per day, and lasts around 1-2 minutes.

Most of my gameplay is done at home, when I'm using wifi. I have not experienced any downtime with my internet.

I have:
Samsung Galaxy s9, Android 9.0 (Pie) 
Hardware version REV1.1

Hi Patty,

Not being able to access the buttons is a sign of dropped connection while playing. 
It won't prevent you from swimming or accessing other menus, but it's possible you may lose played progress during this period, and you will be unable to expand the pond.
We'll first need to determine if it's a device or modem/router issue, you can try out the steps in the following order, and test your play session after each step. Do let us know how it goes.
  • Check that your device is up to date for its OS version
  • Reset WiFi network on the device: Go to Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi. Select your Wi-Fi network and tap Forget. Go to Settings > General Management and tap on Reset, Select Reset network settings. Relaunch your device, then connect back to the WiFi network. 
  • Reboot your WiFi modem: Unplug or power off your modem. Wait about half to a minute. Plug back or power back on your modem. Give it a few more minutes to boot up completely. Try reconnecting your device.
