Herewidth the first report about ball spin and the zelocity
PureLaunch.

I have 45 shots in the database with confirmed Trackman spin values.
Range between 1700-9800

When I run these 45 shots against the Zelocity software I will get 45
calculated spin values, So no need to compare those to the real spin
values.

In the data generated by the PureLaunch hardware (or beter firmware)
there is however data to be found which is marked as "spin data"
Looking at this data I found that when taking this data I could get
spin values from it for 43 shots.....some from the top radar pod and
some from the bottom radar pod and some from both. For only 3 shots
there is no data present.

For 21 shots data was present from both radar pods. 17 shots from
these 21 had spin values within 80rpm of the measured spin by the TM
(7 within 20rpm). The other 4 either around 2400rpm to high or 2400 to
low.

For one shot from those 4 shots however both the top and bottom radar
pod measured spin values within 8 rpm of each other.....

Keep you informed.

well...with 17 out of 45 I'm not impressed. But lets see what else
there is to be found :-)

I was expecting zero....so I guess 17 out of 21 sounds pretty snazzy...perhaps there is a way to only report spin numbers when top and bottom have agreeable numbers?

For me it's more 21 out of 45 with 17 being acceptable so 17/45.
I indeed created a new beta (not released yet ) that only shows spin
when both pods are within 100rpm and that works rather good.

But I'm also working on a other method of gettting spin values out of
the raw data. First few tests looks very promising but for now I do
not know if it will get me more then 17/45

Good news!

The new calcualtion will get me 33 out 45. The found spin values are
very consistant with regards to the TM spin values.

Of these 33,
- 6 values more then 2000 rpm difference. But 2 of those values show
very consistant spin values for both top en bottom radar pod.
- 1 value 1000 rpm difference
- 26 values are within 70 rpm of the TM

Great news.  With or without metal stripe? Indoors or outdoors? Includeds axis angle or not?

Metal dot like Trackman. Test data all indoor shots.

Spin axis not sure yet. There is a lot of spin data to be found but I
have no idea yet if it also will allow spin axis data retrieval.

Add. info : The new calculation can not be improved. I decided to go
for quality so the final result is :

45 shots
- 14 shots show no spin data
- 6 shots show large deviation from the TM values, between 1677 rpm
too low and 3123 rpm too high.
- 25 shots show very good results with a average deviation of only 4
rpm!

These 45 shots are part of some 450 test shots and during that period
I did not spend special attention to getting spin values, I spend most
attention to LaunchAngle, Ballspeed and Clubspeed because I was not
aware that spin could be that good.

So I'm planning a new test session where I will hit around 50 shots,
during this test I will make sure that the metal dot is used AND
correcly placed. I will post the results here. If possible I will then
also spend a few day to see if it is possible to retrieve spin-axis
values.

Keep you informed.
