If you have Android 10, the Windows should install diag-driver automatically via Windows Update. You can check driver is installed. If driver is not automatically installed then you have to follow driver installation instructions.

You have to install diag-driver manually if you have Android 11 installed. Check in Device Manager after enabled Engineer Toggle and connected USB to your computer you see two Unknown device labeled your phone model number. I have IN2013 (OnePlus 8 Europe).

UE Capability Enquiry should have NR band request and your UE should send to eNB UE Capability Information message where included NR bands and also NR combos. Also when UpperLayderIndicator is in SIB2 you should see 5G logo.

If you see 5G State NOT_RESTRICTED then sounds like you have too weak connection to 5G NR. Please move to closer of tower. Phone should automatically connect 5G and then show 5G State: Connected. I recommend test your phone in purple area.

it worked for me in Qatar.
But I wonder why it is disabled by default? in another way what is this process for ? i dont understand coz i am not related to communication field but i want a simple explanation

I think these bands are not really locked like you think. I think OnePlus have to pay to Qualcomm licence fee to use X-bands and Carrier Aggregation Combinations. The modem files are signed by Qualcomm. And this is good reason why Chinese and Indian model are cheaper than Global models.

Hello @Minh, thank you for all these insights, would it not be possible to make combos of our own for indian networks? Like I would want to make a B5+b3+b3 and b3+b40+b40 and etc. And add to carrier file on my op8.

Hello, I have OP 8 Pro, Made in China but I Live in Kuwait. And I have a data sim that is 5G enabled, but I am not getting 5G on my Phone.
Will the setting instructions you have provided enable 5G for me out here?

what is this m1 m3 mF at the end of ca combos in OP8 for ex 40A4-8A2-3A4A-m3; ? and also i have a doubt the carrier_policy.xml only resets if you remove sim right? like for exam if i roam and latch on another network will it reset?

This instruction is for OnePlus devices, not for Samsung. But if you like to share your Note 10+ 5G modem log i can add device to cacombos.com site where can then see supported Carrier Aggregation Combinations and 5G ENDC combos.

After update 5G seems to work without carrier_policy.xml modify, now the file is very small (size 4KB) and looks very different from Android 10 ( size 56KB) in which I had to modify the file to get 5G working.

Well you can do this with QPST but we have noticed during reboot it will fallback to NSA. So NSG is best way to get SA-enabled for now. Also of course you have to enable 5G SA bands in Carrier Policy. But SA not yet important most of networks because only few networks have SA really available.

I have followed the instructions in the main body and the comments, installed the driver manually and can see the device in QPST, but when launching PDC, I dont see the device there. Would you have any thoughts please?

I have did all of the steps above and still 5G is not working. I have oneplus 8 pro in2020 version and my carrier support N41 and N78 bands after doing the steps I only see 5G logo in top but in real it is connected to LTE. In callmapper it is showing 5G status Not_Restricted. pls advice

I downgraded my device to oxygen 10.5.13 and performed above steps including changing the VoLTE profile via PDC and the 5G is working perfectly now.
Unfortunately in OOS 11 I was not able to detect my device via PDC so that I was not able to activate 5G and VoLTE in my device.
Do u have any idea how to connect to PDC without rooting my device?

BTW, of course I do have OnePlus USB drivers installed on my laptop and I am able to connect to the phone using the file transfer mode.
I do also have Developer Options and USB debugging turned ON on my mobile.

Please update here when you have solved issue. To A11 you have to install diag driver manually when you have exposed diag over usb. Here is driver: -tech.fi/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Xperia-1-Qualcomm-Drivers.zip .

Anyway, I managed to make it work. I realized I had been choosing wrong modem model when updating drivers. I followed all the (updated) steps listed above and 5G is working just fine with my 8 Pro (IN2020) and a Polish carrier named Play (260-06).

We are not yet OnePlus approved and still only on test level, so cant say anything offically.
But I got 5G access by modifying via QPST. By default we are only 4G active.
Just wondering if n1 band activation is only possible by official OnePlus firmware, but open for n28 and n78 for any operator via modification.
Also the carrier_policy file had changed a bit with OS 11 from the OS 10 version you have on top.

We can connect the phones to TEMS Investigation and see in Layer 3 that the phone measures the n1, but not trying to get RACH.
Other phones as Huawei P40 and Nokia 8.3 5G get RACH succesful, so its clear that the OnePlus is the blocking point and not the network.

Hello Minh, I own an OP8PRO IN2020 Chinese version with global firmware, I live in Italy and my carrier is Windtre, now I have 5G sim and in my area there is coverage but even following Yr instructions I cannot get any 5G connection, could you help me to explain what shall I do? N78 is supported by IN2020 so it should work. Any help is really appreciated, thank you.

Hello Minh, I own an OP8PRO unroot ed IN2020 Chinese version with Glo firmware A11, I have have 5G sim and there is 5G coverage in my area but I cannot connect to my Italian carrier Windtre.i have tried following Yr nice instructions but I cannot connect at 5G. If you can help me to understand what I could do is highly appreciated. Thank you.

Dear Minh
Thank you very much for the guide, it worked for me like charm , specially on Android Oxygen 11 where ONE plus restricted communication access. my network is STC Saudi Arabia getting speed of 750MB/S

Wonder if you can help. I have a GM1920 as well and im trying to get the device to connect to 5G 3UK, but am unable to do so. I have gone through all the steps successfully, so I think the issue is with the profile i have created. Are you able to send me a copy of the profile you created so I can compare it to mine to see where i have gone wrong?

Only difference of mine to yours was that I missed a line with the addition of 5G. I had however added the 5GNR_SA and 5GNR_NSA config, but was not sure if these were required as these may only be required for the Oneplus 8 handset.

HI All,
Can anyone please confirm that One Plus 8 Pro EU variant having SW oxygen OS 11.0.3.3IN11BA is been tested over NR Band1 + LTE Band 3 combo and vice versa for NSA call. As of now i am not able to latch my UE on this band combination. Any inputs is highly appreciated.

Hi, I can not manage to have two devices when i active the engineer toggle. It only appears one. I am using a Oneplus Nord AC2001 with O2 11.1.2. Any idea of how can I solve this?
Thanks in advance.

Been following the methods here for a year now, always had good success. Thank you to Minh.
However, got a new laptop, and for the life of me, I dont seem to be able to get the driver to work. Tried the Xperia drivers here. I thought I installed it on the right device, but not seemingly working.

Any hints on how to revert and start from scratch? When plugged in now, with USB debugging on, I dont see the Qualcomm drivers pop up in either the com ports or the unknown devices anymore ( I did try uninstall to try and get it all to work).

Heya! The tutorial is very nice! But now I have two questions. First of all, can I use this tutorial also for a 1+ 9 or 9 Pro? And second: Can I as a customer get the carrier information from somewhere? By now I have a OPPO Find X2 Pro which works fine on 5G with Swisscom (Switzerland). Can I e.g. extract the needed information from there somehow?

Good afternoon, I would like to buy the oneplus 9 pro china version (LE2120), I saw that it has all the uk bands but I was wondering if it would have any carrier aggregation/5g/volte problems here in uk.
Thanks

It should have Carrier Aggregation available and also 5G I think. Here is supported 4G Carrier Aggregation combinations: . To confirm 5G combinations have to test on 5G network and take log. You can send it to

Is it possible to change assignment of a band to 44 MIMO. For example if the phone has bands 1,3 and 41 on 44 MIMO but if you want to change it to either 1,3,40 and 41 or 1, 3, 40 or is it hardware limited?

So right answer is the manufacturer can update modem firmware via OTA update and combinations may change that way but unlikely they do it. I have track so many devices supported combinations many years and there is rarely change after release. You can browse my database via website.

Hi
OP 7 pro on Virgin which use O2 in UK and followed the steps and managed all fine but cellmapper only shows LTE and not able to change to NR either
Would you be able to advise
Thanks in advance

hello, this worked perfectly on two OnePlus Nord devices done many tests and used for long hours it was steady and always on 5G however my OnePlus 8 pro has an issue it does connect to 5G at first then when i actually use any data or speedtest it just disconnect from the network and then reconnects back to 4G+
i tried editing the policy, getting an already edited policy files all the same result. what should i do!
all the devices are on android 11

I am hosting a webserver on a relatively older computer with Nginx as its reverse proxy. I used portforwarding to forward the 80 and 443 port of the server and I set that up in the DNS records of a domain registerar. I am currently using an apex domain.
