Zekr 1.1.0m1 is available

Salaam,

After two years of inactivity in Zekr development, I'm happy to announce a new Zekr release. Zekr 1.1.0m1 is now available for download. We tried to implement features which are widely needed by users. It includes the following new features:

• Multiple recitation support.
• Show translation under search results and allow user to toggle translation/quran under search results.
• Native support for media keys on Windows (play, pause, next track, etc.).
• Zekr is now shown on the system tray icon (if supported).
• Search scopes are now persisted, so they will kept if Zekr is closed.

We changed our version scheme from 'beta' to 'milestone'. This version is 1.1.0 milestone 1. InshaAllah 1.1.0 final will be released before this Ramadan.

Hi Mohsen,

 

Text of Quran in Zekr 1.0 had multiple corruptions into it.

Fatha, qasrah and dammah are either missing or in-appropriately placed.

I am not pleased to see so many mistakes. I hope it has been corrected in this new version.

There is no issue regarding Zekr Qur'an text. I believe you didn't noticed the welcome message of Zekr Google Group:

Before reporting Quran text issues, read this paragraph:

We use a highly verified digital text of the Quran provided by tanzil.net. If you want to report kasrah/fatha (+shaddah) issue, first read this article and then consider that some old fashioned Arabic fonts (like Traditional Arabic) when encounter a Shaddah+Kasrah combination, render Kasrah over base letter and under Shaddah. You can change your font to something like me_quran if you don't like this old-fashioned rendering behavior.

Wa Alaikumassalaam wr wb,

You are using Zekr Uthman Taha text without me_quran font. Uthmani text in Zekr can be best displayed by me_quran font.

- If you changed your theme to Uthman Taha, change it back to Sky theme (Tools > Options > General > Theme).

- If you want to see Uthmani text, make sure that you have me_quran font installed, then change your Quran font throug Tools > Options > View, double click on quran_fontName and set it to me_quran.

- You can also change your text from Uthmani to Imla'i from  Tools > Options > View > set quran_uthmaniTextFile to false.

item will remain on drop down after restart zekr.

Salaam,

If you are sure you have Java installed, Java architecture doesn't match Zekr architecture (use Zekr 32bit version if you are receiving error from Zekr 64bit). If you don't know you have Java or not, download and install JRE 32 bit and Zekr 32 bit.
