Hi all,

I'm a new member here. But, I'm not new user of Zekr. So far, I used
Zekr on Ubuntu and it works like a charm. And I love the Uthmani theme
as it looks closer to the real mushaf text, so I can read the arabic
very well.

Then, I left Ubuntu and became a mac user (currently using MBP with
OSX v.10.5.8). I encountered no problem during installation, including
all additional fonts, recitations, and translations. But, when I
activated Uthmani theme, the arabic text isn't displayed correctly and
hardly can be read. It seems the font (me_quran) isn't mac friendly,
because the same exact font file is fine on Ubuntu. The exact problem
also appears in tanzil.info site.

Because of this, I no longer able to use Zekr on my mac. I don't like
the sky theme or other fonts because it looks weird/strange to me. Is
there someone else face the same problem as mine?

If required, I could provide the screenshot.

Salaam,

There is a small bug in Zekr 0.7.1 which causes real Uthmani text not to activate. However you can still see simple text with me_quran. Make sure that you installed me_quran font. Then change default Quran font in any theme: Tools > Options > View > set quran_fontName to me_quran. Press OK.

If you were already using Zekr 0.7.1 on Ubuntu, then you should probably missed font installation on Mac. It's not automatically installed as Windows setup or .deb package. You can find me_quran font in Zekr.app/Contents/Resources/Java/res.

If you want to see real (complex) Uthmani text (after fixing your font issue), replace quran-simple.txt with quran-uthmani.txt, to force Zekr always use Uthmani text.

If your problem is still there, please send a screenshot here, telling exact steps you have done.

Regards,
Mohsen.
