Salaam,

I receive "hip: bitstream problem, resyncing skipping" errors when down-sizing some MP3s using Lame. For example for Shuraim's original 128kbps taken from here, the following files are not converted with command:
$ lame -b 64 infile.mp3 outfile.mp3

002277.mp3
012076.mp3
034037.mp3
059004.mp3
063009.mp3
066009.mp3
081006.mp3

Anybody know why this happens? I've read on some websites that this relates to ID3 tags, but it seems that lame now supports it, as for example not only 002277, but also the rest of MP3 files in this set have ID3 tags.

Regards,
Mohsen

Wa'salam
Due to some inherent flaws and corruption in the mp3s we have, this is why we decided to re-rip and split these sets
we have started doing it in FLAC format, they are available on www.flawlessquran.com and once we resplit they will be available for the ummah to resize or use in any format or bitrate :)

in regards to your question I think it might be some data flaw or corruption in the files
