Salam,
Has anyone yet tested/verified Zekr current release is working with
Windows 7 RC or RTM. I have a test system with 7 RTM x64 and
currently Zekr is not running. It installed after loading JRE, but,
nothing on run. Trying to figure out if this is a isolated issue on
my system or is this an issue. If its a widespread issue we need to
look and see whats causing this. I will try a reinstall

Oh also the warning that says you need ot install JRE, and it says if
you press ok it will take you to the website to download does not work
as well.

what version of the RC? 32bit or 64bit? at first I thought it was tied
to the Java JDK 64bit i installed (tho i installed the regular JRE),
so i removed the 64bit and installed the 32bit with no improvement.

I then removed Zekr installed and have tried to run it direct from
Eclipse (pulled down the latest CVS) and I get the loading screen and
it stops with no error at what seems to say "Quran root database".
Maybe I am doing something stupid, I am not a daily Windows user
anymore, but, you can run away from Windows if you want to do any
work ;) and I thought since I have Win7 running is hould give Zekr a
kick to see if its compliant or not.

I just remember I have the RC installed on my mac in bootcamp, let me
see if i can dup the problem on this in RC. I will be upgrading it to
win7 full when it comes out.

32bit.

I've even tested zekr on 7 beta. (Back in beta period)

Salaam,

Please don't use zekr-0.7.1-setup_64.exe, as it's not a valida 64-bit package. I removed it from the download page. Use zekr-0.7.1-setup.exe instead.

Regarding running Zekr from Eclipse, current root-db on CVS is buggy. Just copy res/test/metadata/quran-root.txt from your Zekr installation to your Eclipse Zekr, and re-launch it.

Regards,
Mohsen.

Ah, well the issue with running on Eclipse was tied to the the buggy
db, got that sloved.
As for the package .exe, after loading 32bit JDK it worked. I dont
know if it was just some error or its tied to the 64bit JDK. I am
going to reload the 64bit jdk and see if it runs.
