The Conversations program for Art Basel Hong Kong (May 19–23, 2021) kicks off this week with the first in a series of fortnightly digital talks taking place ahead of the show's opening. On Thursday, Age of You: The Extreme Self, will explore how technology, and then the pandemic, have altered perceptions of individuality, intimacy, and collectivity. Artists Heman Chong, Stephanie Comilang, and Sin Wai Kin fka Victoria Sin, will join writer and curator Shumon Basar. Click below to join the conversation on Zoom. Age of You: The Extreme Self Thursday, April 15, 2021 5.30am ET / 5.30pm HKT / 11.30am CET Register Now Curated by writer and editor Stephanie Bailey, the Art Basel Hong Kong Conversations will take the pulse of the contemporary art scene and its markets across Asia and beyond.  The program will continue with Asia’s Self-Sustaining Art Scenes on April 29, bringing together gallerists from across the region to discuss how their work has evolved within a network of global and regional art markets and contexts. Within this frame, they will consider how old paradigms of 'global' validation have shifted. On May 13, Defining ‘Global’ China: Contemporary Art in China, Now will explore the changing landscape of Chinese contemporary art, both within the country and on the global stage.  Further talks will include a conversation with Asia Art Archive on independent art initiatives in Hong Kong, and a roundtable discussion based on the findings of The Art Basel and UBS Global Art Market Report.  Click here for further details and to register for upcoming talks.
