The town operates a municipal court to adjudicate certain misdemeanors, including traffic citations and code violations. Court is usually conducted on the third Friday of each month, beginning at 9:00 a.m. In order to save time, and for convenience, those who wish to pay their fines may do so by coming to town hall during normal business hours. This will avoid having to appear before the judge in court and often waiting in a very long line. Those who are ordered to appear in court but fail to appear or pay their fines in advance, are liable for immediate arrest.

Juvenile Violators - A notice will be sent to the Juvenile violator and the parent and/or legal guardian. Please disregard court date and time on citation. All juveniles must appear in court in person and be accompanied by a parent and/or legal guardian.

Please allow one (1) business day after issuance for your citation to be available to view and/or pay online. If you are not able to view your citation information, please contact the court at 972-886-4240

If you have been charged with a driving offense, you may be eligible to have the case dismissed by completing a state-approved driving safety course. You must enter a plea of Guilty or No Contest to the offense, waive you right to a jury trial, submit the required documents, and pay the associated court costs and fees.

If your request to take a driver safety course is granted, you will be given 90 days to sucessfully complete a six (6) hour Texas approved driver safety course and obtain a copy of your driving record from the Texas Department of Public Safety. Once your request has been approved, you will receive additional instructions on both of these requirements.

You are responsible for ensuring that your contact information submitted on your documents is current and accurate. If that information changes while your case is still pending with this court, you will need to notify the court in writing as to those changes.

To take the written test before turning 16 using parent-taught driver education, you must have the Parent-Taught Affidavit approval number and proof of purchase from the Parent Taught Program provider.

There is a $25.00 fee associated with tests taken at Career Tech Testing Centers and the applicant will still have to visit a Service Oklahoma Licensing Office for the vision test and to be issued the permit.

Beginning May 7, 2025, a REAL ID compliant Driver License or ID card, or a valid federal identification document (i.e. U.S. Passport) will be required for you to fly within the U.S. or visit a federal facility.

If you are between the ages of 15 - 18 years old, you must apply for a Learner Permit.

If you are 18+ years old, you do not need to receive a Learner Permit in order to take the drive test. However, if you choose to get a driving permit for driving practice, you will need to hold it for at least 30 days before applying for an unrestricted license.

You can re-take the drive test up to three times, each time at least one day apart or as instructed by the examiner.

If you fail the third drive test, you will have to wait 30 days before taking the test a fourth time.

The fourth attempt and any thereafter should be taken no more than one time every 30 days.

*The 30 days starts the day after the last drive test date.

Parent Taught Driver Education is an alternative to conventional Driver Education that is recognized by Service Oklahoma. It is offered as correspondence study through Approved Parent Taught Driver Education Providers.

The student must be at least 15 years of age in order to be eligible to start the classroom portion of the course. The student cannot start any behind the wheel training until they have a Learner Permit.

To start the process you need to apply using the Parent Taught Driver Education Portal. The packet provided by the Driver Education Provider will detail the process of how to get started and what actions need to be taken once approved.

Parent Taught Driver Education is the newest of three forms of driver education in Oklahoma. If your public school does not offer Driver Education, if you do not attend a public school, or if there are no commercial driving schools in your area, Parent Taught Driver Education may be right for you.

If you cannot find your Parent Taught affidavit confirmation number, please email par...@service.ok.gov to request your affidavit number. If you applied online, an email has been sent the one on file. For more information, call us at 405-522-7000.

Service Oklahoma does not accept any driving logs. Please refer to the requirements of your parent-taught provider within the course. Service Oklahoma will require the parent to verify that the permit holder has completed fifty (50) hours of driving including a minimum of ten (10) hours of driving at night from a licensed driver through the Affidavit of Driver Training form.

The parent taught program is complex and requires parents, guardians, and designees to work with multiple entities. The Driver Education Teen course consists of a minimum of 32 hours of classroom instruction, 7 hours of in-car observation, 7 hours of behind the wheel supervised instruction, and 30 additional hours of behind the wheel instruction.

The parent, guardian, or designee, and student must first verify their eligibility to participate in the parent taught program. The parent, guardian, or designee must then apply for authorization to conduct a driver education course.

The in-car instruction and practice phase consist of 44 hours of training; 7 hours of in-car observation, 7 hours of behind the wheel training, and 30 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction, including at least 10 hours of nighttime instruction, in the presence of an adult who meets the requirements of Texas Transportation Code, 521.222(d)

If you are under the age of 18, we allow our young drivers to schedule their skills test up to six months in advance. Young drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and schedule as soon as possible. We recommend that our young drivers take advantage of this opportunity.

Appointments must be made to take the Non-Commercial Road Test. You may schedule your road test online. If you do not have access to the internet, you can schedule your driver's test by calling 1-800-423-5542.

Additionally, PennDOT has certified third-party businesses to administer the skills test for a market-driven fee. All third-party examiners (PDF) are PennDOT-certified and the test is identical to the test that you would take at a PennDOT driver license center.

Before the test begins, a driver license examiner will check to see that your vehicle has a valid registration card, current insurance, valid state inspection sticker and, if required, a valid emissions sticker. The lights, horn, brakes, windshield wipers, turn signals, mirrors, doors, seats, and tires on your vehicle will also be checked to make certain they operate properly and meet safety standards. If it is determined any part of your vehicle is unsafe or does not meet state inspection requirements, you will not be allowed to take the road test. If your vehicle is equipped with seat belts, make sure they are clean and ready for use. You and the examiner will be required to wear them during the road test.

Note: Vehicles equipped with Advanced Parking Guidance Systems (self-parking vehicles) can be used for testing; however, the self parking feature must be turned off and is not permitted to be activated during the road test.

The examiner will be your only passenger during the road test. When the road test begins, you will be told where to drive and what maneuvers to make. Close attention will be paid to the way you approach and obey warning signs, stop signs, and traffic lights. The examiner will note how you control your vehicle, use turn signals to communicate with other drivers, or use any other vehicle controls that may become necessary during the test.

If you are under the age of 18 and fail the road test, Pennsylvania law requires you to wait seven days before you can retake the road test. This delay in retaking the test will give you time to practice and to improve your driving skills. You have three chances with each learner's permit to pass the road test before the expiration date of the learner's permit. After the third failure, you must reapply to extend your learner's permit.
