I got 3500 messages sent to my email account by my systems today regarding timeout on connections to https://api.zeepmobile.com/messaging/2008-07-14/send_message, starting from around 8:20a. What gives?

We're suffering from an outage at Amazon. We'll have everything up and
functioning asap.

Not that we don't appreciate an eventual bulletin that you had a problem eighteen hours ago, but it would've been stellar if there was been a message about this at that time. You caused system-wide unavailable of service on our side, and no one knew in advance.

a) you're using a free service and b) "and no one knew in advance." ..
how can they predict an outage by another company BEFORE it happens...

Just my thoughts :)

I'm not trying to be harsh. I'm also not saying to tell us in advance about such things, but just sending out an email telling us that you're aware there is a problem and thus a) keeping everyone who uses Zeep from having to debug their systems unnecessarily, b) preventing the possibility of a flood of support emails, and c) allowing us the courtesy of being able to warn OUR customers.

Gang, apologies for the non communication. Amazon chose the day that
the whole team was in the air for 4+ hours to take a dive.

As a reminder, Zeep is a free service and makes no claims on
reliability. Our parent company Vibes http://vibes.com offers
excellent reliability and support. They were not impacted in anyway
by this outage. If you need this level of coverage drop me a note and
I'll be happy to introduce you to a member of our knowledgeable sales
team.

Once again, apologies for the inconvenience this is causing us all and
we'll notify you as soon as everything is back online.
