Came to my store, internet connection still not working since last night. Hence no debit/credit sales. Writing of stuff causing equity issue. All requests on regular basis to MM failed to yield positive results. I think I should approach Joe DePinto now.

With all the bad audits, there will be many under equity at end of the month!

Absolutely Bill go right to the top. Have your facts lined up like sales decrease lost customers etc. While for a FZ it is personal and emotional these 'robots' in Dallas only understand 'metrics'....speak factually. Tell them your lost sales are their lost profit...main switchboard is 972-828-7011

I've tried many many times. But, it seems, Mr DePinto is
Insulated fm franchisee involvement. He doesn't reply.
So, I can only assume he's not getting my emails.

Could be, for fault of time. Otherwise he is a strong proponent of servant leadership.

"Servant leadership' must be an army thing. You serve those above you and never question the General's decisions or motives. That term has morphed over the years. Today, in my opinion, it means we serve our customers and corporate execs...and they ignore our needs/wants.

It seems most things are NOT done to meet "customer needs"; but to satisfy "corporate greed". Using technology, ensuring transparency and involving key stake holders in policy decision making will help.

Servant Leadership is to turn the pyramid upside down so that decisions come from the bottom up

Then you install central planning where all decisions come from the top down

Don't read his lips....  Look at his actions

Customers are guests and up is down and down is up

Retailer initiative is the retailer deleting dead items

and then introduce the top 200 that forces the retailer to add all those dead items back

Its simple follow the program right is left and left is right

If you can't understand any of this then you are simply not 7-Eleven material and should look for a new job/ownership

Unfortunately, Bill: corporates' top echelon of execs believe they know best...as does JDP.
This company thrived when Zees utilized their individual entrepreneurship indifferent facets of this biz. Corporate execs don't kno jack, they just think they do...such arrogance!

Servant Leadership has got to be one of the best propaganda slogans of al time.....right up there with "Arbeit Mach Frei" and "If you like your insurance you can keep your insurance"

In my store for over a year amex and discovery along with gift cards have not worked when customers purchase gas in the store and then go out to pump. It is too numerous the times we have had either us or the FC get Dallas involved, they promise us both that it is fixed but to no avail.  It has happened even when the FC was at the store to verify the problem. Finally we do not even try and fix when the SEI response was it will be fixed on the next update in a month. Which never fixed the problem, if this was something our clerks would do then we as stores would get charged for lost profitability. We FZ are held to a double standard that would not bode well in court....and that day will come.

What I do not understand is what is the NC doing about the protection of our rights in regards to SEI moving in an aggressive way towards the FZ on various fronts and topics

Neil:Tariq Khan once told UFOLI board members that Darren Rebelez told him, and I paraphrase: the new agreement (2006) wilbe the instrument that rods the system of long-tenured Zees.  All this: central planning, onerous new agreements, lack of communication, I believe, is a pathway to get long term Zees pissed off enuf to exit the system.  And, FIWs is anudda way.

The programs being pursued are not opportunity driven for us; rather forced through inducement, fear and panic. Hence it never picks up true momentum. For initiatives to sustain and be embraced happily, they must be financially beneficial. It seems we have purportedly common goal, but two mind sets. Company can never gain by keeping us poor.

No franchise can be successful by keeping their Zees poor!!
The programs are driven by vendor cooperation, some w/ funding, some without.  When  Zee prints out sls plan, there are funding graphs 4 each promo and GP% before and after promo start date.  This is a great tool to protect your margins during these promo periods.  Study'em before participating.

Jack ie correct.  Study the sales plan carefully.  Many of the 7Select 2for deals the Fz makes less gross profit pennies selling two as opposed to selling one.   Cannot stay in business long with that model.

Just came across this email.  Thought I'd express my disappointment on ur
inability to retain ur Vice Chairmanship at NCASEF.  Sometimes, things
workout in ur favor.  One man's floor is another man's ceiling.

Good Luck.  Hope to see you soon, somewhere.
