Forró music has long been associated with immensely popular folk-hero Lampião and his gang of cangaçeiros – a bunch of rough, filthy dudes famous for their costumes of cross-strapped bags, bandoliers, jewelry, knives, guns, and rawhide; infamous for their capacity for ruthless violence.

Equal parts Jesse James and Robin Hood, Lampião and the cangaçeiros terrorized the arid hinterlands of Northeast Brazil with their rifles and infamously long filet knives, but were also great lovers of music, inspiring countless songs.  

So, don your eye-patches, stripy socks, and anything else that you think evokes ‘Brazilian Pirate,’ and we’ll see you there!
