Fala meus cangaçeirinhos!
We’re stoked to try out a new venue this month, in lieu of Mississippi Pizza:
Vino Vixens - 2929 SE Powell.
8:30 PM. 21+. $6.
Vino Vixens is a hip, but unpretentious wine shop and lounge.
It’s hip ‘cause they offer over 500 varieties of wine and beer from far-flung regions of the globe, and rotating exhibits from local fine artists. It’s unpretentious because it’s hard to put on airs in a strip mall at 29th and Powell!
We put up some new material on our myspace page (link below,) including some recordings, bios, trivia, and fun stuff.
Also, we’ve got some new material, including a beautiful new xote from Gabriella.
Future plans for a harvest squaredance ( / quadrilha) in the fall.
Now, forró’s accessible enough so that most folks don’t need dance lessons, but Krishna will be there to get you all started if you’d like some help.
We still love the MPP, so we’ll be back there August 14.
