I may be alone on this, but my preference would be to do this during one of the ACL weekends.  Because Music > Sports (to me at least).
Dates are Sep 30 - Oct 2 OR Oct 7-9 if this idea gains traction…

The second weekend of ACL is also TX/OU.  We could do both football and music.  We can get buses and have our wives make us coolers.

If you take the ND game out of the discussion there are only 4 other home games (not counting thanksgiving). You have the following:

September 10th against UTEP
October 15th against Iowa State
October 29th against Baylor (Halloween weekend since it's that Monday, could be good or bad)
November 12th against West Virginia
