Hello!

Some backup files can not be restored. We get the following error:

zbackup restore /backup/centos/backups/39749_14891_144975390 --cache-size 1024mb --non-encrypted > /dev/null
...
...
...
no such chunk found: e26d9b1aaa86b45894fcf7f880dc742d9defb50db65e225e or

Can't open file /backup/centos/bundles/b3/b378430477a8e11decef1e4f210aeb3d146a4d5983d86e39

I tried using extundelete and testdisk find a block among the deleted files. But it is not there, and it seems he never created fiction.

Is it possible to fix it and restore files?

Best regards, Razin Ivan

Greetings,

here are some questions:

1. What version of ZBackup are you using?
2. Have you ever interrupted garbage collection (zbackup gc) on this repo?

Yes, sometimes the processes of gc falling, we removed files in backups folder on which it failed and then life cycle process was normal.

Unfortunately, I can't help you in this situation right now because it was caused by bug (https://github.com/zbackup/zbackup/issues/104), I'm really sorry for that!

New stable (1.4.5) will be released with a noticeable warning about this bug.

It's also most probably possible (but not 100%) to restore you data by reindexing all bundles in your repo (some of bundles was orphaned, i.e. they exist but not referenced from any indexes - that's why zbackup can't find chunk) but this feature is not currently implemented.
I'll try to implement it ASAP.
