MCX (Mobility Service) support for legacy mobile clients is no longer available in Skype for Business Server 2019. All current Skype for Business mobile clients already use Unified Communications Web API (UCWA) to support instant messaging (IM), presence, and contacts. Users with legacy clients using MCX will need to upgrade to a current client.

Outlook mobile only shows Skype as the Online meeting option, not Teams. We are full Online Exchange, no on prem. Teams Admin has Teams Only mode set org-wide and user for months. Private Meetings and Outlook Addin are set. Exchange Web Access shows the Teams option. Desktop Outlook shows the Teams option. Teams mobile is installed on the phone, Skype is not. I can schedule from Teams mobile. Regular calendar meetings show in Teams and Outlook mobile, they are syncd.

I am developing an application which is kind of similar to Skype with some more features. I am amused and surprised by Skype's response to various mobile platforms i.e. iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, Symbian, Bada OS etc.

Skype for Business mobile apps for iPhone, iPad and Android are now available. Each of these clients offer full IM, presence, audio and video tools. They are available as free downloads from the respective App Stores. The sections below provide installation and first-time login instructions.

I suspect this has something to do with ubuntu and/or skype treating the wireless broadband connection differently from a wifi connection. Perhaps it has something to do with dialout, with 'metered connection', etc.

How do I set up a scheduled automatic Skype from my desktop computer to call my mobile? It just needs to call my phone, it doesn't have to make sense. I just need the call to interrupt my meeting so I can make theatre and leave.

pretty weird issue we're having right now. One of our user's Skype for Business status constantly stays at "Inactive" in their own client and "Inactive - Mobile" for others despite not being logged into any mobile device.
I already tried deleting the SIP and Tracing folder contents, this didn't help. We then tried logging that user in on the mobile app which did allow them to change their status either in the Desktop or Mobile app. However as soon as they log out again it's back to "Inactive" and no way to change anything anymore.

Has anyone had any luck getting the skype for business mobile app working through the XG firewall? We have the desktop client working fine, but the mobile app will not connect. Support has no current solution (WAF or DNAT rules not working) This previously worked on our old Microsoft TMG firewall. Thanks.

Apologies for the inconvenience caused. Have you tried to find out if the Skype for business mobile application is trying to connect to the domains that are not bypassed from web proxy on the firewall? There is a link on this KB Article for Microsoft Products and there is a specific section for Skype: Sophos XG Firewall: How to allow Skype for Business through the firewall.

If you bypass source device from the web proxy, does Skype for business mobile application works? Follow this KB Article on how to bypass source device from web proxy: Sophos XG Firewall: How to bypass the web proxy in Transparent Mode.

We actually host skype for business internally, so it's not going through O365 at all. We did make a rule to try to allow 1 test device to access the server hosting skype for business, but that did not work either. Thanks.

After downloading the appropriate client to your device, open the application. The first time you run the mobile client, you will need to configure your account information. Follow the appropriate instructions below.

One of my users encounter strange behavior for her Skype for business client. When people call to her work number configured in S4B, her personal mobile rings as well. We have checked that there is no call forwarding configured (it is configured to voicemail if call was not picked up). Is there a way or PowerShell command to check how her work number is being linked to her personal mobile?

This only happen to one user, other users did not encounter such issue. The strange thing is even her mobile (iPhone) does not have S4B installed or configured. She is using personal Skype on her mobile.

Some additional information after I analyzed the call flow diagram. It shows that after 10seconds of ringing, the call is being forwarded. The next call flow showing the destination number is the user's personal mobile e.g. xxxx@audiocodes server. I've checked on the user's S4B client, call forwarding is off. No S4B signed-in on her mobile.

Does the user have S4B through an Exchange bundled app program and does the user have that exchange account on the mobile phone? I am aware that Microsoft are seeking to move a lot of their Skype infrastructure across to Microsoft Teams longer term and this may be a part of this cross over or infrastructure beginning to be injected?

User does not has the exchange account configured on mobile, but they can access OWA on their mobile (we have migrated to Office 365 from on-prem Exchange, ActiveSync on mobile is prohibited). The S4B client is downloaded from AppStore.

The strange issue is even we uninstall S4B client from the mobile and removed all exchange related settings, when external party call to user's work number (the DID we used in S4B), the mobile will ring if the call is not answered. When I checked on the call flow using Snooper, it shows that there is a call forwarding to user's personal mobile line. Unfortunately, I am not able to find where is this forwarding option was configured.

Or is this a portal 365 admin or user setting somewhere? I login and I see a link that says go to Skype for Business admin center to manage additional settings... that link sends me to here: Opens a new window, which I login and it takes me to a lync.com site... I see under organizations, there's mobile phone notifications with a push service...

What is strange is this issue only happen to 1 user, all 100+ users do not encounter this. I've checked and turned off the forwarding setting for the user, yet the issue still persist. User did mention that she merge/sync her contacts on her mobile but could not remember what she has done. I've tested to setup a new phone with just her personal sim card, the phone still rings when someone call to her work number. :strange: :strange: :strange:

Did a bit more googling and found the following - not sure if any of these will be helpful or not... my thinking was maybe changing or deleting the cell # from the users settings one by one until you find the one that is being used for call forwarding? Maybe somehow, there's a setting that is set to forward calls to mobile numbers, but if you delete the mobile number, then you could in effect disable the call forwarding? I know it's a roundabout way to go about it, but if you can't find the setting to disable call forwarding, maybe you can delete the phone number that it is using...
