Hi all,
I am Sunny. I have been working on a zest addon for firefox as a part of GSoC. Thought of updating the progress in this mailing list to keep a record of it.

Firefox Zest-addon is built using the Firefox Add-on SDK (jetpack). It integrates to the browser as a sidebar. Once installed, the add-on could be used to record the page loads (atleast right now) of specified tabs. After a session is recorded, a zest tree is generated in the sidebar. The user could browser through the recorded zest and even modify it's attributes and run the recorded script again. These recorded zest scripts can also be saved to a file for later use or to be attach with a bug report.

I started this project to create a javascript implementation of zest. It's not complete yet. Only a tiny part of zest, compared to its java implementation, have been implemented till now.

In the past 2 months I have been working on zest recorder, runner and editor. They have been implemented and work well (not always), but sure they need improvement. I would be happy to have contributors to the project from next month, i.e. September, after GSoC ends.

In the mean time, I have been adding support for various zest elements and writing a lot of unit tests (yes, it's growing and manual testing is a pain).

The code is available on github https://github.com/darkowlzz/zest-addon and some more details could be found in my weekly reports http://codingowl.tumblr.com/tagged/gsoc2014 .

I would love to have any comment or feedback and we could have more discussion in this mailing list or in the irc channel #websectools, I am darkowlzz (my irc nick :D).

Thanks.
