Change language of UI interface

Hi, everyone!!
How can i change language in ZAP .I downloaded ZAP_2.2.1_language_pack.1.zaplang . I work on Windows 7, ZAP version 2.3.0.1. Set up this language pack, then chose English language. Restarted application. And i have half controls in English and half controls in Russian. How is it possible to fix it

Hi Ivan,

You can change the ZAP language via the Tools / Options / Language screen.
What that is in Russian I'm not sure.
By default CTRL-ALT-O will now get you to the options screen, and from there you can go down untill you spot the language pull down.

Which version of ZAP are you using?
It looks like you're using 2.3.0 - in which can you shouldnt have installed the 2.2.1 language pack :/
2.3.0 includes all of the languages we support, and any changes to the languages are now delivered via add-on updates.
So all you need to do is perform a 'check for updates' and then update the languages if they have changed.

Hi, Simon!
I use ZAP 2.3.0.1 (Standard) version. When i open Language screen and click button language, i see two buttons(English??). I chose any of them. When i restarted ZAP, i see that most of buttons in English, but central  right panel in russian.By the way i checked for updates, it didn't help me.

I really dont know what effect installing the 2.2.1 language file will have had.
Are you ok uninstalling and reinstalling 2.3.0.1?

Yes, i uninstalled and again installed 2.3.0.1 . And i  got right panel in russian language. When i choose German, i have everywhere german buttons.

We can only display words and phrases that have been translated - where we dont have translations you will see the English originals.
However anyone can help translate ZAP, just sign up at https://crowdin.net/project/owasp-zap and get started :)

Ok.Simon, i will register and help in russian translation. But i don't understand, why, when i set English language as a major language in settings for ZAP, i see russian description on right side.

We only change the language on a restart - its just too hard to recreate the UI with the new language dynamically.
So this could be a mistranslation?

Language isn't changed after restart on right side of ZAP. It seems to me that language is taken from (Language and regional settings) in windows for ZAP.

I see the same screenshot. But when i set English language in options, i somehow see russian controls and words on right side of application.

Yes. I have selected first option in the pulldown and restarted ZAP..

Weird - I cant reproduce that :(
Try editing the config.xml in the ZAP default dir (http://code.google.com/p/zaproxy/wiki/FAQconfig)
Change the <view><locale> value to en_GB

Yes.It is weird, because i already  have <locale>en_GB</locale> in config.xml.

Which config.xml file are you looking at?
ZAP will use the one in the default directory unless you override it using the -dir command line option.
