Java problem on install of zap

Hello sorry first post is so mundane, but i am pulling my hair out
trying to install zap on my win 10 pc.

for some reason it dont like my version of java. afaik it fresh and minty

sombody tell me what i know! i should know!  Please

Do any java apps work on your system?
Are you sure you got it from Oracle's official site?

Its from official site and any online check i do  all say version is uptodate and ok  . i already reinstall twice..
I have another laptop with Kali installed , so i could use that but its just really anoying that i cant do a simple install
of a sec tool.

ahh  im using 64 bit firefox. seems this may be an issue ?

Sorry I don't see the Firefox angle.

I'll see if I can find a Win10 VM to test with.

What's the exact name of your java installer?

Oh actually if it's finding java in program files x86 that means you have 32bit java, and the installer is telling you it wants a 64bit version.

But yes you correct i have been downloading 64 bit , but if its in x86   thats 32   bahhh im confused  . will get it again

Could you try with the installer "Windows Offline (64-bit)" [1] instead?

Kingthorin    its all good  woke up with clear head , and some help from a google comment on a forum. sombody with similar problem,
he was unable to install the 64 bit   only  32.

in a nutshell  i have been downloading  the 64 bit  but java wont  download  64  with firefox it defaults to 32
i used  that new brand IE  that comes with win 10  and  bingo   1 64  bit version    Zed attack  now
working .  thanks for putting me on the right track..  dont try to download 64 java with firefox )))
