use ZAP to test mobile app

Hi,

I am trying to use zap to test a mobile app, I connected my wifi on the phone to zap through the proxy, when I go on a browser and go to a website I see the traffic and everything on Zap on my laptop. My issue is when I try opening the application I want to test, it isn't able to connect to the server, I guess the internet is not working on the app through the proxy. Does anyone have any solutions?

Thanks for the prompt reply. I just watched that video, so I've followed all the instructions same as the video but the issue still persists. On Safari or a browser all the traffic is intercepted and I see it, but for any other application it isn't even able to connect to the internet. I'm not sure if the answer to that was in the video, I can give it another look. The first link also only shows it working with a web browser and a URL. There is an example in the zapcon video that shows them using an application directly but it did not explain what they did to make that work, or maybe the issuse lies elsewhere.
