Zap HUD not working

Hello I am new to this tool , I installed ZAP on Ubuntu 22.04.3 and when I open the browser

via the ZAP tool , HUD isn't working.

Any ideas on how to fix this ?

I am opening ZAP , i have enabled request interception , I have enabled HUD but when I enter an IP on the browser via ZAP , I don't see the options available via HUD.

I only get the request details on the app's window.

I am sorry if you need more details but I am really a newbie to all this and I am trying to figure it out.

If you need any more specific details let me know and I'll post them.

Which browser (and version) are you using?

Are you launching the browser from ZAP?

Does it happen with all sites?

If so can you send a browser screenshot when opening https://www.example.com/

When you say "interception" do you mean you turned on break?

I am using firefox 12.01 and yes I am launching it from ZAP.

Yes it happens with all sites. The app is showing the requests on the main window but HUD isn't working.

So as you can see from your screenshots example.com didn't load because it's trapped by ZAP (since you've got break on). If you do it without break then it'll probably work.

HUD doesn't show until there's actual site content in the browser.

(Yes I know I'm replying out of order, I see your messages are moderated but Groups won't let me approve them 🤦‍♂️)

Ha!

Dont turn on break with the HUD, at least not via the ZAP desktop.

That stops the response being returned to the browser, which is where the HUD is!

The HUD supports break itself, and that should work fine.

Thats ok - its hard to know how to use complex tools thats are completely new to you.

Its also hard for us to guess how people will use ZAP ;)

The HUD is intended as a lightweight alternative to the ZAP desktop.

In general you can use them together .. but not if you break the requests in the ZAP desktop :D
