Unable to launch browser from ZAP GUI - The provided browser was not found

I am unable to launch the browser (Firefox as well as Chrome) from ZAP GUI as it gives me the message "The provided browser was not found". Please Advise

Are the browsers on your path?
The Selenium Options screen allows you to specify the Firefoxbinary path if it is in a non standard location: https://www.zaproxy.org/docs/desktop/addons/selenium/options/

On both Kali and Kubuntu, I get this in the log:

Running Firefox as root in a regular user's session is not supported.  ($XAUTHORITY is /home/joseph/.Xauthority which is owned by joseph.)

That seems pretty clear - Firefox will not run as the root user.
So start ZAP using a non root user :)
