Hi

I am using docker ubuntu:jammy-20221130

and i installed firefox using apt-get install

but in execution logs i see this error, any help in handling this?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Command '/usr/bin/firefox' requires the firefox snap to be installed.
Please install it with:

snap install firefox

Thats a Firefox error not a ZAP one.
You can tell ZAP where the Firefox binary is via the Selenium options: https://www.zaproxy.org/docs/desktop/addons/selenium/options/

Simon

That will probably be due the DOM XSS Scan Rule which will use Firefox by default.

Cheers,

Simon

Hello Simon

Thank you for responding,
Actually I am using docker container version and operating entire thing with APIs only
So how can we get it done via API calls?

That can't currently be set with an API call, you can pass that as a
command line argument though, e.g.:
-config rules.domxss.browserid=chrome-headless

Best regards.

@Thc202

After adding the option like you suggested the snap install Firefox error is gone but now I am seeing the following error message multiple times
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Starting ChromeDriver 111.0.5563.64 (c710e93d5b63b7095afe8c2c17df34408078439d-refs/branch-heads/5563@{#995}) on port 18302
Only local connections are allowed.
Please see https://chromedriver.chromium.org/security-considerations for suggestions on keeping ChromeDriver safe.
ChromeDriver was started successfully.

Did you check the ZAP log? Was the DOM XSS scan rule skipped?

Best regards.

I just tried and that error is not fatal, the ChromeDriver starts
anyway, e.g.:
> ./chromedriver --verbose
