OWASP ZAP API capabilities

Hello, 

I wanted to ask about the capabilities of ZAP Python API, can it run targeted scripts or other types of scripts (other than standalone)?  If yes, how. If no, what can I do to run a specfic script or payload on a target url.
I'm aiming to integrate owasp zap in a pentest framework website, so it needs to be running without GUI.

Also, how can I pass OWASP ZAP results to other pentest tools, ("Run application" option in GUI) in an automated way.

If Automation framework is the answer, what should I look for.
