Hi there,

I am very happy to see that someone else also cares about continuing
Chinotec's work on Paros Proxy. Since several years i try to enhance
Paros Proxy with new features and by cleaning up the code. In June, i
decided to release Andiparos (http://code.google.com/p/andiparos/) as
a fork of Paros Proxy. Maybe you guys already heard of Andiparos.

A first look on ZAP showed me that we both tend to go into the same
direction. Therefore, i would like to ask if you are interested in a
cooperation. I think about merging projects to have the best of ZAP
and Andiparos.

What do you think about it?

If you would like to have a discussion on this, you can reach me via
gmail or jabber: neu...@jabber.org

Regards,
Axel

Hi Axel,

That was quick!

Yes, I am aware of Andiparos, but I only spotted it recently when I
started looking to host the ZAP code - I've been working on this for a
while too!
I did consider talking to you guys, but I had some definite plans for
ZAP (i.e. explicitly aiming at developers, ease of use etc) and I
didnt want to try to impose them on another project.
I'm still in the process of sorting out the wiki, so I havnt started
to publicize it yet - well done for spotting it :)

I'd be delighted to work together - either merging the projects or
making sure that we can develop core areas so that they can be reused
in both ZAP and Andiparos.
Have you had a chance to look at the changes I've made yet?
They are detailed in the ZAP help pages. At the moment these are only
accessible when you run ZAP - I'm in the process of converting them to
the wiki format
but there are a couple of formating tweaks I need to make.

Thanks for getting in touch,

Psiinon

Hi Psiinon,

I haven't had the time to take a detailed look at your changes yet.
The first impression i've got is that your code has a better structure
than the ones we've implemented. It will take some time to figure out
the changes you've made.

I'm delighted that you also think that it might be a good idea to act
in concert by merging the projects or sharing the code. I suggest that
we initially take a look on each others code in order to get to know
the opportunities we've got (merging projects, sharing code, ...)

Feel free to take over Andiparos code into ZAP Proxy! Maybe we could
have a chat, so i could tell you about the biggest changes and about
features you might be interested in.

I am absolutely curious about the cooperation!

Thanks,
Axel

Ps: I will be on holidays for the next three weeks, so i will hardly
be able to write any mails ;)

Hi Axel,

Theres a summary of the changes here: http://code.google.com/p/zaproxy/wiki/HelpReleases1_0_0

One of the main things I've done is to add a load of javahelp pages.
I've written a script to convert them into wiki pages, but its not
quite right yet :(
If you get a chance have a look at http://code.google.com/p/zaproxy/wiki/HelpIntro
and let me know what you think.
All of my code changes are have a //ZAP: comment with them or are in a
separate org.zaproxy tree.

I'll have a look at your changes as well and then we can have a chat
about how to move forwards.
And likewise feel free to pull any of my changes into Andiparos:)

Look forward to working with you, and have a good holiday!

Psiinon
