I've just tweaked the ZAP code so that you get a more useful page than before if you point your browser at the host+port that ZAP is listening on.
Basically it gives you a welcome message and a bunch of links.
It also allows you to browse and use the API (which previously only worked if you were proxying through zap and used http://zap/) and I've also extended the API to generate a PAC file.
This is the first phase of a set of changes intended to make it as easy to set up your browser to work with ZAP.
Please let me know asap if you have any problems / suggestions etc with this.

Cheers,

Simon

Funnily enough, I've been thinking about this recently too.  It will change the signature of Zap to tools like nmap, as a side effect.

Another thing that ocurred to me, possibly as a GSOC idea: adding support to Zap for parsing pcap files (network traffic capture files), rather than live capture via proxy.  I'd use it!! :)

The ability to parse PCAP files would be a cool feature.

Best wishes,
Robert

Yeah, it would be wouldnt it!
Maybe it could be part of (or an extension to) SOCKS support?
